Indian Beauty: Books based on natural skincare recipes and makeup techniques!

BEAUTY SECRETS OF INDIA: FROM AYURVEDIC TECHNIQUES TO EXOTIC ADORNMENTS

Book Description
Indian beauty and author Monisha Bharadwaj was born and raised in Mumbai (formerly known as Bombay), and with this book she captures idealistic territory with a very personal, easygoing style that includes natural family recipes for the skin. She goes above and beyond by showing Western women how to look and feel vibrant, healthy, and ravishing. Beauty Secrets of India will lead you into a rich and attractive world with an approach that is both friendly and informative.
This book will encourage you to find simple ways to refresh and pamper yourself on a regular basis by blending Ayurvedic techniques with other natural systems. Included in the text are folk sayings, snippets of poetry, and tales of legendary Indian beauties combining a deep sense of India?s ageless knowledge with a modern approach to physical and spiritual beauty.
Review
This book has some wonderful recipes in it ranging from skin cleansers and polishers, to bath oils and teeth whiteners. This isn?t what you would call a traditional ?makeup? book because the information stems from the fact that your ancestors relied on customary herbs and other tropical ingredients to enrich their beauty. The emphasis is on natural beauty and strengthening your body and spirit.
There are some great tips on how to make natural cleansers, but unless you know where to look, some of the ingredients can be difficult to find. I suggest visiting some of the Indian-owned markets in your area if you can?t find a specific product. Monisha does a thorough job of discussing how the weather can affect the condition of your skin, and this is great information that is often ignored by many. If you?re a huge fan of Ayurvedic techniques and natural skin care, this book will serve as a wonderful asset!
ASIAN FACES: THE ESSENTIAL BEAUTY AND MAKEUP GUIDE FOR ASIAN WOMEN

Book Description
Taylor Chang-Babaian is a professional makeup expert who shares her secrets in an asian beauty guide exclusively for all asian women along with influential artist Yoko Ono.
Asian Faces is the first makeup book that specifically focuses on the techniques and styles that enhance skin tones and facial features of Asian women of all ages and cultures including Indian, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, and many more.
This fully illustrated, step-by-step guide includes advice on:
* Makeup products and tools for your skin tone
* How to emphasize your prominent facial features
* Differences between day and evening makeup
* Creating the illusion of flawless skin

Asian Faces covers costume makeup and popular looks from past decades with a modern edge using more than 100 full-colored photographs and illustrations. It also consists of looks from top American styles stemming from New York, Miami, and Los Angeles.
Review
This is an excellent makeup guide for Indian beauty because it addresses the issues that are significant to Indian women regarding cosmetic products, texture, product usage, skin care, etc. Taylor uses Asian models of all ethnicities ranging from East Asian to South Asian ancestry to display a variety of makeup techniques. She incorporates tips and tricks for creating looks that involve colorful eyeshadows so you can still maintain a polished look.
She divulges a wealth of information on makeup tools and which colors are best suited for your skin tone. This book even covers past decades and how to apply the prominent looks of that period to the Asian face. I must say that it is very beautifully illustrated, but it doesn?t include color descriptions for the foundation colors used on the models. However, there are descriptions for other makeup products such as lipstick, eyeshadows, and blush.
If you tend to stick with very simple makeup applications, this book will surprise you with significant results. The instructions are very down-to-earth and easy to use. You will find great examples for different facial features, and Taylor provides information on how to emphasize those features. You will find this to be one of the most empowering books you?ve ever purchased! It is truly a must have in achieving the ultimate in Indian Beauty!

About Eyebrow Threading Tips and Techniques

Eyebrow threading is a Chinese technique. The eyelid is stretched to make the hair removal easy. Eyebrow threading is a depilation technique which originated in India, although it is also widely practiced in the Middle East. The hair removal technique is not just for the eyebrows: threading can be used to remove other facial and body hair as well. Eyebrow threading involves twisting a piece of thread, usually cotton, into a double strand. Eyebrow threading can be used to eliminate a unibrow, raise the arch of the eyebrow, or add shape and definition to the brow.
Because it removes hair by the follicle, it is a reasonably long lasting hair removal technique as well. Eyebrow threading also will not harm the skin like wax and some depilatory creams can. If done correctly, the skin should not be red or irritated for more than a few minutes after the eyebrow threading session.
Eyebrow threading has positive and beautiful results. These results include cleaner and straighter lines, balanced facial features and often lift the eyes. Eyebrow threading is very precise for an eyebrow shape that frames your face. It is commonly practised by women in India and the Middle East. They use a pure cotton thread. They generally twist the hair and threading pulls out a whole row of hair, as opposed to tweezing where only one single hair is pulled out. Other benefits to eyebrow threading is no allergic reactions such as rashes, no chemicals are involved, it is a good technique for people with sensitive skin and the top layers of skin are not damaged when using this technique. Threading is highly recommended and an excellent option for those who use Retin-A or Accutane.

Teen Beauty Makeup Tips and Techniques

This section on Teen Beauty is probably one of my most favorite parts of this entire website. When I was young I didn?t know that I was okay the way I was. I would always look at someone else and see something special about them, but I never saw it in myself. I used to spend all of my allowance money on fashion and beauty magazines, which always praised white girls for being pretty. Because of that, I spent almost all of my teenage years wanting to look like fashion models that were of a completely different race or culture.
Now that I am older and much happier with myself, I realize that you may be dealing with similar issues as well, and that?s why it is important that I create this section. Here you will begin to feel more comfortable about makeup because the information is straightforward, simple, and none of your questions will ever be considered ?stupid?. You will get a chance to find out the easiest ways to apply eyeshadow and blush, and what look suits you best for prom. At your age, makeup should be as simple and fun as possible, so I?m going to make it that way while helping you develop your own personal teen beauty style.
Looking back on my teenage years, I wish I would have realized that with time I would learn to accept myself for who I am. When you grow comfortable with yourself, flaws and all, then your unique beauty will shine through, and that is what attracts people. Have you ever seen a beautiful girl with a nasty personality? Well, she probably didn?t look so pretty after getting to know her, right? That is why being confident and happy with yourself is so critical. Everyone loves a personality that shines.
I know these are probably the most difficult years of your life because you want to be accepted by your friends, but don?t ever fail to be yourself. I love makeup and beauty to the fullest, but I want you to know that it?s important to get your education first and be all that you can be. With these two things, you will progress further in life, and feel much better about yourself because you are allowing yourself to blossom in many different ways. Aside from all of the makeup products you will purchase throughout your life, these are the real qualities that will make you beautiful.
